One of the golf tournaments on the European Tour is the Irish open live stream. The tournament began in 1927. It has most recently been held at the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club in southeast Ireland. The prize fund can be as large as Euro 1,500,000.

The course over which the Open is played is approximately four miles long. It has an overall par score of 71. The match takes place in the summertime.

The game is played with small, white balls covered in dimples and an assortment of no more than fourteen clubs. Golfers swing their clubs to propel the balls into a series of holes on a lush, green, scenic course. The player who requires the least number of strokes to complete the course is declared the winner. Courses have nine or 18 holes. It is customary to retire to the clubhouse bar, often nicknamed ‘the 19th hole, ‘ at the end of the match.

The origins of the game are the subject of debate. There is evidence to indicate it began in Persia, or what is now known as Iran. Others are convinced it developed in China between the 8th and 14th centuries. Another theory is that it started in 1st century BC Rome.

Regardless of its country of origin, golf as it is played today emerged from Scotland. Records indicate that King James II was concerned that the game was so popular it was distracting his troops from the practice of archery so he imposed a ban.

The basic structure of a golf course include a teeing ground, a fairway, a number of roughs, water and other hazards, concluding in a green with a cup sun into the ground and marked by a flag. The holes typically have a straight line of sight from the teeing area, although for the sake of interest some dogleg either to the left or right. Some bend twice and are called ‘double doglegs.’ Early courses in Scotland were constructed on what was called link land, large stretches of sand dunes at the seaside that were covered with soil. This is where the expression, ‘golf links’ comes from.

There are three separate courses at the Killarney club, Killeen, Mahony’s Point and Lackabane. The Irish open live stream tournament was held at the Killeen course in 1991, 1992, 2010 and 2011. During the 1991 tournament, winner Nick Faldo was one of only three players who completed the course under par. Luminaries like Bob Hope and Bing Crosby were known to have played there.
